HSE Manager – Lead Health, Safety & Environment

About the role

The HSE Manager will lead the Health, Safety and Environment function at Rosebel Gold Mines, ensuring compliance with company policies, legislation and international standards. The role is responsible for developing and implementing HSE strategies that protect people, the environment and support sustainable mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the HSE, Environment, Health and Safety teams.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve HSE management systems aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Drive safety culture through behavior‑based safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide HSE leadership and advice to senior management, supervisors and employees.
• Oversee environmental programs, including impact assessments, water, waste and tailings management.
• Monitor HSE performance, KPIs, risks and regulatory compliance and report to senior management.
• Lead HSE risk assessments and ensure corrective and preventive actions are applied.
• Manage HSE budgets, resources, team development and succession planning.
• Maintain relationships with government authorities, local communities and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of HSE experience, including at least 5 years in a senior supervisory/management role.
• Mining or natural resources industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of HSE management systems, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and environmental impact assessment.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Dutch is an advantage.
