Field Service Technician (Heavy Equipment / Construction / Infrastructure)

About the role

Gatesource HR is recruiting a Field Service Technician for its client, who maintains and repairs heavy equipment across construction and infrastructure industries. You will work on premium heavy equipment brands and help ensure maximum machine uptime and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers and generators
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Carry out on-site repairs and respond to emergency breakdowns
• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot equipment issues
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately
• Coordinate with parts teams to ensure timely repairs
• Follow strict health and safety procedures at all times

Required profile

• Technical diploma or certification in Heavy Equipment / Diesel Mechanics (or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
• Hands-on experience with premium equipment brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu or similar
• Valid driver's licence

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems
• Ability to work independently in field conditions
• Problem-solving mindset and strong technical skills
• Customer-oriented attitude and good communication skills
