Country Manager – Suriname

About the role

PUMPUM is seeking a Country Manager for Suriname to lead the development of strong business ecosystems that drive economic growth, social inclusion, and sustainable development. You will oversee a freelance acquisition team, manage client relationships, and play a key part in fundraising to secure the long‑term future of PUMPUM’s programmes in the country.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Country Impact Plan aligned with PUMPUM’s mission and strategy.
• Identify, develop, and secure funding from institutional donors, foundations, corporate partners, and other sponsors.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with SMEs, business organisations, and enabling entities.
• Lead, coach, and ensure the quality of the two freelance country representatives.
• Manage client relationships post‑acquisition to ensure continuity, quality, and strategic alignment.
• Collaborate with the regional team, programme managers, recruitment, and communications departments.

Required profile

• Extensive network of SMEs and partners in Suriname.
• Proven experience in programme management and team leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to secure funding and manage donor relationships.
• Strong analytical skills to assess business ecosystems and develop impact strategies.
• Excellent communication and partnership‑building capabilities.
