Country Manager Suriname

About the role

As Country Manager for Suriname, you will lead PUMPUM’s efforts to strengthen the local business ecosystem, drive sustainable economic growth, and ensure the long‑term impact of our programmes beyond the current funding horizon.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Country Impact Plan (CIP) aligned with PUMPUM’s mission and strategic goals.
• Identify, develop, and secure funding from institutional donors, foundations, corporate partners and other sponsors.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with SMEs, business organisations and enabling entities to expand PUMPUM’s visibility and influence.
• Lead, coach and manage a team of two freelance country representatives, ensuring high‑quality acquisition and client relationship management.
• Oversee end‑to‑end client relationship management after acquisition, guaranteeing continuity, quality of engagement and strategic alignment.
• Collaborate with the Asia & South America regional team, reporting to the regional head and coordinating with other country managers, programme managers and support departments.

Required profile

• Extensive local network with SMEs and partners in Suriname.
• Proven experience in programme management, team leadership and fundraising.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans that drive ecosystem development.
• Strong analytical skills to assess business environments and identify impact opportunities.
