Payroll Coordinator

About the role

Digicel is looking for a Payroll Coordinator in Paramaribo. The role coordinates end-to-end payroll processing across five entities managed through an outsourced payroll provider, ensuring accurate, complete and timely payroll inputs and the structured review and approval of payroll outputs. It acts as the main link between HR, Finance, employees and the external payroll provider.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate payroll inputs across five entities, collect changes such as new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, overtime, commissions and statutory updates, and validate data for accuracy and completeness
• Submit validated inputs to the payroll provider on time, act as the main contact for queries and corrections, and monitor vendor performance against SLAs
• Review payroll reports (registers, variances, statutory reports, payment summaries), reconcile inputs with outputs, investigate anomalies and coordinate approvals and re-runs
• Act as first point of contact for employee, HR and Finance queries, keeping a log of issues and resolutions
• Prepare payroll summaries, variance analyses, statutory deduction reports and payroll journals, ensure timely tax and statutory filings, and support month-end close
• Ensure compliance with company policy and statutory requirements, maintain segregation of duties and audit-ready records, and support internal and external audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of payroll administration experience
• Preferred: experience with multi-entity/multi-country payroll and in an outsourced payroll environment
• Mandatory bilingualism in English and Dutch

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory deductions, payroll controls and compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, stakeholder management and confidentiality
