Senior Assurance Auditor - Suriname

About the role

EY is looking for Assurance Seniors for its office in Suriname. The Assurance group helps clients, investors and regulators gain confidence in financial statements and business-critical information by giving an objective, independent examination of financial statements, constructive discussions with management on accounting and reporting matters, and a clear perspective to audit committees.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess client satisfaction
• Maintain regular contact with the client throughout the year
• Direct daily fieldwork, report engagement status to supervisors and manage staff performance
• Adapt the audit approach to the changing client environment
• Apply a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts to client situations
• Delegate tasks, give guidance, provide performance feedback and training, and conduct performance reviews
• Foster an efficient, innovative and team-oriented environment, and contribute ideas to the audit teams
• Use technology to share knowledge and improve service delivery, and maintain an educational program

Required profile

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or another business-related subject, and/or an accounting designation such as ACCA, CA, CGA or CPA
• At least 3 years of experience as an auditor for a public accounting firm, or equivalent business/industry experience for special needs
• Dedication to teamwork and leadership, and integrity in a professional environment
