About the role

Newmont Suriname, part of Newmont Mining Corporation and based in Paramaribo, is hiring an Analyst, Finance. The purpose of the role is to support informed financial decision-making by providing accurate financial reports and maintaining comprehensive data records. It is a mid-level position based in Paramaribo, with a 5-day work week, 2 days off and 8-hour days.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and report financial statements accurately and on time.
• Collate and reconcile financial data to ensure complete and accurate records.
• Monitor budget expenditures and give regular updates to partners.
• Assist in processing invoices and payments in line with company policies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing.
• Maintain financial databases and filing systems with the team.
• Administer financial transactions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide detailed financial reports and summaries on business performance.
• Schedule and coordinate financial audits with internal and external parties.

Required profile

• Formal education in finance, accounting, economics or business administration.
• Experience with financial reporting standards, financial modeling and relevant software tools.
• Accuracy, compliance awareness and analytical reasoning.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Familiarity with financial software and spreadsheet tools, including data manipulation and report generation.
