Head of Sales (Events) - Caribbean Portfolio

About the role

Global Event Partners (GEP) is looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Head of Sales to lead sales across its Caribbean events portfolio, with a particular focus on growing the Suriname Energy, Oil & Gas Summit & Exhibition (SEOGS). Suriname is seeing accelerating investment in its offshore oil and gas industry, creating opportunities to strengthen commercial partnerships and expand reach. The role is hands-on leadership, working closely with international teams and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial sales across the Caribbean events portfolio, including SEOGS
• Develop and execute sales strategies to drive sponsorship, exhibition and partnership revenue
• Build relationships with senior decision-makers in the energy sector and wider business community
• Identify new markets, revenue streams and commercial opportunities
• Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and relationship building to negotiation and closing
• Develop accurate sales forecasts, manage pipelines and deliver revenue targets
• Work with marketing, operations and event teams to maximise commercial performance

Required profile

• Experienced commercial professional with a track record of revenue growth, strategic relationships and new business
• Significant experience in B2B sales, business development or commercial leadership
• Proven ability to secure high-value partnerships and negotiate complex commercial agreements
• Entrepreneurial approach, resilience and adaptability in a fast-moving international business
• Fluent English; Dutch, Spanish or French is highly advantageous
• Experience in exhibitions, conferences, sponsorship sales or the energy sector is valued, but transferable commercial experience is also welcome

The recruitment process has three stages: a competency-based interview, a commercial pitch exercise followed by a deeper interview, and a final conversation with senior leadership.
