Senior Offshore Well Engineer – Deepwater Well Assurance

About the role

As a Senior Offshore Well Engineer you will act as the technical authority for deepwater well assurance and governance, reviewing and challenging well designs, drilling and completion programs, and ensuring offshore wells are delivered safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Independently review and challenge deepwater well designs, drilling programs, completion strategies and well assurance documentation.
• Govern the well engineering process delivered by international operators and contractors on behalf of a non‑operating partner.
• Review well integrity assessments, casing designs, hydraulics, torque‑and‑drag analyses, well‑control plans and relief‑well strategies.
• Assess technical risks, cost estimates, schedules, tender packages and contractor deliverables.
• Monitor well execution and performance against approved programs, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, peer reviews, HAZIDs, HAZOPs and technical assurance activities.
• Capture lessons learned and improve internal well engineering standards, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Advise multidisciplinary field‑development teams and engage with operators, contractors, suppliers and regulatory authorities.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of well engineering experience, including 3+ years on offshore deepwater developments.
• Proven experience with operators, IOCs, joint‑venture partners or regulatory bodies reviewing and governing well engineering deliverables.
• Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control certification at Supervisor level.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Paramaribo, Suriname.
• Strong knowledge of international well engineering standards and HSE regulations (API, ISO, NORSOK, OGP).
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
