Senior Full Stack & Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript) – Remote LATAM

About the role

Bluelight is seeking a senior full‑stack and backend engineer to join its rapidly expanding consultancy team. You will work remotely from Latin America, collaborating with cross‑functional squads to deliver high‑performance, secure applications for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain low‑latency API services on AWS.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party SDKs.
• Implement multi‑tenant architectures with Row‑Level Security using PostgreSQL/AuroraDB.
• Write raw SQL, manage schema migrations, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews, testing (including integration and fault‑injection), and ensure code quality.
• Occasionally support frontend work with React when needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend‑focused software development.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and client‑focused mindset.
• Ability to overlap US business hours and work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Required skills

• Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript
• AWS services (including Fargate/ECS)
• PostgreSQL / AuroraDB, Row‑Level Security, raw SQL
• Schema migration tools (node‑postgres, node‑pg‑migrate)
• React
• CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
• Fastify and schema‑first validation (e.g., Zod) – preferred
