GIS Data Analyst

About the role

The GIS Data Analyst will support the GranMorgu greenfield project by managing, displaying, and exchanging geographic data throughout the drilling and installation campaign. The role involves creating geospatial solutions for HSE, operations, and emergency management.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and manage geographic data, perform advanced spatial analyses and thematic mapping using GIS tools.
• Maintain and update geodatabases with public and proprietary datasets from Suriname and the Caribbean Sea.
• Develop smart geospatial solutions for HSE, operations, security, and emergency cell exercises, including interactive web maps and geofencing.
• Provide geospatial support for environmental and social permitting, quality control, and data package preparation for authorities.
• Ensure governance, standardization, and quality of geospatial data, documenting processes for future training.
• Deploy and maintain web map platforms, contribute to asset management dashboards (Power BI, ArcGIS, Galigeo), and manage data storage, deduplication, and archiving.
• Represent the geospatial domain in data governance, support GIS software deployment, and oversee migration of projects from HQ to the subsidiary.

Required profile

• Geomatics Engineer or Geographer degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in GIS data management and web mapping.
• Previous experience in upstream oil & gas (E&P) is an asset.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); French and Dutch are valuable.
• Strong organizational and adaptable mindset.
