Purchaser – Automotive Parts Procurement

About the role

Fernandes Autohandel N.V. is seeking a proactive Purchaser to join its Parts Procurement Department in Paramaribo. You will support the timely and cost‑effective acquisition of automotive parts, ensuring the right items are available for internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full procurement cycle, from quotation requests to order follow‑up.
• Request, compare, and negotiate quotations, prices and purchasing conditions.
• Place purchase orders and monitor lead times, deliveries, goods receipts, invoices, returns and related documentation.
• Maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
• Resolve delivery discrepancies, damaged goods, shortages and invoice differences.
• Keep item data – prices, stock levels, order quantities, delivery terms and codes – accurate and up to date.
• Prepare cost‑price calculations, purchasing reports and recommendations.
• Contribute to annual ordering programmes, stock planning and demand forecasting.
• Analyse supplier performance, market developments and alternative sources.
• Support supplier agreements, contract follow‑up and continuous improvement of procurement processes.

Required profile

• Residing in Suriname and available for full‑time onsite work in Paramaribo.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in purchasing, procurement administration, supply chain or logistics.
• Strong numerical, analytical and cost‑awareness abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented and able to take ownership of tasks.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
