Project Geologist – Lead Exploration Team

About the role

Rosebel Gold Mines is looking for an experienced Project Geologist to lead the site‑based geological team, oversee exploration activities and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and design exploration programs, including work proposals, target prioritisation, budgeting and cost‑effective execution.
• Lead and supervise drilling, logging, sampling, mapping and surveying while ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
• Supervise and mentor field and junior geologists and coordinate activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate data collection, QA/QC, database updates, GIS integration and geological interpretation (maps, sections).
• Prepare regular and regulatory reports, contribute to NI 43‑101 and corporate reporting, and support project generation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of geological exploration experience, including at least 5 years with mesothermal gold deposits and 3 years in a corporate mining environment.
• Proven experience working in remote field camps and tropical environments.
• Valid driver’s licence, 4x4 driving experience and willingness to work on a 14‑day on/7‑day off rotational schedule.
• Fluent in Dutch and English with strong communication skills.

• Strong drilling, geological mapping, sampling and logging capabilities.
• Experience with budgeting, cost management and data analysis.
