Plant Attendant – Petroleum Handling

About the role

The Plant Attendant ensures safe and efficient handling, storage, transfer and loading of petroleum products at the depot, supporting overall operations while adhering to HSEQ standards.

Key responsibilities

• Load road tank wagons (RTWs) and gauge storage tanks, recording measurements and product levels.
• Operate valves, pipelines, meters, pumps and loading arms safely, and report any equipment issues.
• Maintain accurate operational records, loading logs, tank gauging reports and shift reports.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ guidelines, depot security, and regulatory requirements, reporting spills or incidents promptly.
• Perform housekeeping, assist with inventory control and support overall depot operations.

Required profile

• Secondary education with technical college qualification.
• 3–5 years experience working in an industrial facility handling petroleum products.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude, able to self‑plan and deliver results.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.

Required skills

• Operation of meters, pumps, valves and loading arms.
• Computer literacy for record keeping and reporting.
