Commercial Manager (Sales / Food / Beverages / FMCG)

About the role

Gatesource HR is recruiting an experienced Commercial Manager for its client in Suriname, to lead Sales, Marketing, Retail and Export activities. Reporting directly to the Director, the role combines strategic thinking with hands-on commercial execution and shapes the commercial agenda toward profitable, sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute the commercial strategy across Sales, Marketing, Retail and Export
• Drive revenue growth, profitability and market development
• Develop pricing, portfolio and route-to-market strategies
• Strengthen key-account, retail, distributor and channel relationships
• Improve commercial planning, forecasting and performance reporting
• Identify new customer, channel and regional export opportunities
• Lead and develop managers and multidisciplinary commercial teams
• Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and other functions

Required profile

• Experienced commercial leader from FMCG, food, beverages, consumer goods or another distribution-intensive sector
• Experience across both Sales and Marketing, with a proven contribution to revenue growth and profitability
• Ideal candidate: substantial senior commercial management experience and experience leading managers and teams
• Bachelor's or master's degree
• Professional fluency in English; other Caribbean regional languages are an advantage
• Willingness to travel regionally when required

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of pricing, customer development and route-to-market
• Experience with key accounts, retail, distributors, franchise channels, export or multi-market operations
• Ability to turn market and financial information into clear commercial decisions
