Assistant Superintendent Camp Services

About the role

The Assistant Superintendent Camp Services supports the Superintendent in overseeing daily operations of the Rosebel Camp. This includes managing accommodation, kitchen, laundry, guest house, commissary, maintenance, and ground transportation while contributing to long‑term strategic planning.

Key responsibilities

• Support and coordinate execution of support services to improve operational performance.
• Assist in managing human, financial, and operational aspects of camp resources.
• Help develop and execute long‑term strategies for camp operations.
• Participate in operational planning and budgeting activities.
• Implement processes, policies, systems, and practices to maximize efficiency.
• Monitor staffing requirements and support workforce planning.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects.
• Monitor and control operational costs against approved budgets.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department.
• Coordinate with Heads of Department to follow up on delegated responsibilities.
• Support succession planning and team capability development.
• Implement camp management systems and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Facility Management, or related field.
• Minimum eight years of progressive experience managing a remote camp or similar hospitality operation, with at least five years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven experience managing integrated camp services such as accommodation, housekeeping, catering, laundry, transportation, and facilities maintenance.
• Strong leadership, people management, coaching, and multicultural team development skills.
• Experience in workforce planning, succession planning, employee development, and performance management.
• Experience implementing Integrated Quality Management Systems (QMS) and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Solid planning, budgeting, financial management, and cost‑control abilities.
