General Manager – Suriname Operations

About the role

We are a global leader in transportation and logistics seeking a visionary General Manager to head our Suriname operations. Reporting to senior management, you will drive growth, ensure operational excellence, and represent the company with key stakeholders across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Suriname branch, aligning with corporate objectives.
• Develop and execute business strategies to meet growth targets and profitability goals.
• Oversee daily functions including sales, logistics, customer care, finance, and human resources.
• Foster an inclusive culture that promotes employee engagement and professional development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, regulators, and local authorities.
• Monitor market trends, identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with local laws.
• Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Logistics or related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in shipping, transport or logistics.
• Proven track record of leading and growing a business in a multicultural environment.
• Fluency in Dutch and English with strong communication skills.
• High integrity, professionalism and ability to thrive in a fast‑changing environment.
