Transportation & Logistics Advisor

About the role

The Transportation & Logistics Advisor will support Newmont Suriname’s T&L team by creating and administering purchase orders, sourcing local suppliers, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role is based at the Merian Project in Suriname and contributes to safe, profitable mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders for transportation and logistics spend.
• Source new local suppliers and maintain supplier relationship management.
• Prepare, negotiate, and administer contracts with local T&L suppliers.
• Monitor supplier regulations, agreements, and business practices.
• Ensure contractors adhere to mine safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Extensive experience in supply chain or logistics within international mining or similar sectors.
• Proven ability to analyze transportation data, identify trends, and produce reports for senior stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen and knowledge of regional transportation regulations and trade compliance in LATAC.
