Training & Development Superintendent

About the role

The Training & Development Superintendent will lead the strategic planning, design and delivery of the mine’s Training Center. Reporting to the Human Resources Department, this role will create learning pathways, manage resources and build partnerships to support both local and expatriate staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a mid‑to‑long‑term blueprint for the Training Center, aligning training goals with production targets and safety standards.
• Plan and control the annual training budget, oversee physical and digital infrastructure including simulators and workshops, and implement ROI measurement frameworks.
• Conduct training needs analyses across Mining, Processing, Maintenance, HSE and HR, and lead Train‑the‑Trainer programmes to certify internal subject‑matter experts.
• Create and manage a centralized Knowledge Library of operational procedures and technical manuals.
• Identify, evaluate and establish partnerships with vocational schools, mining universities and government agencies to secure a pipeline of qualified talent.
• Design multi‑career development ladders, onboarding and mentorship programmes, linking certification milestones to promotions, salary adjustments and performance appraisals.
• Support HR initiatives such as employee relations, roster management, remote‑work strategies and cross‑cultural communication during hiring phases.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and delivering training programmes within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong strategic planning abilities with a track record of aligning learning initiatives to business objectives.
• Experience managing budgets and evaluating training impact through ROI or similar metrics.
• Demonstrated capability to build and maintain external partnerships with educational institutions and training providers.
• Excellent communication skills to work with diverse teams, including local, Chinese and expatriate personnel.
