SSR ROV Technician – Offshore Operations

About the role

Join Oceaneering as an SSR ROV Technician and launch your offshore career operating state‑of‑the‑art Remotely Operated Vehicles and subsea tooling. This entry‑level position offers comprehensive training, a competitive salary, and the chance to work on offshore projects in Suriname.

Key responsibilities

• Operate ROV equipment including cameras, acoustic positioning, sonars, manipulators, LARS and hydraulic power units.
• Assist or pilot the ROV, evaluate environmental conditions, dock/undock from the tether management system, and navigate using acoustics, sonar and video.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on electronic, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, including calibration and corrosion control.
• Operate and interface subsea navigation gear such as magnetic compass, gyro, transducer, sonar and altimeter.
• Integrate and operate subsea tooling like cutters, pump units, multipurpose skids and dredging systems.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for all assemblies.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree (or equivalent technical training).
• 6‑12 months formal training in mechanical/hydraulic systems and 6‑12 months in electrical/electronics, or comparable experience.
• Ability to obtain a valid passport and meet offshore work documentation requirements.
• Willingness to work outdoors and indoors, day/night shifts, and in high‑humidity, noisy environments.
