Process Plant Electrician II – Mining Operations

About the role

The Process Plant Electrician II will join the team at Newmont’s Merian gold processing plant, performing electrical installations, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair to ensure continuous operation.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in safety meetings and prioritize safety in all tasks.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on LV & HV electrical equipment.
• Conduct low voltage isolations, dead testing, portable appliance and GFCI testing.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty electrical equipment and ensure installations meet site standards.
• Monitor field conditions and report maintenance needs to supervisor.

Required profile

• High school or secondary school plus a technical diploma (e.g., NATIN/AMTO/IMEAO).
• Minimum four years of experience in the electrical industry, preferably in mining, utilities or heavy industry.
• High voltage experience up to 13.8 kV is an advantage.
• Ability to read and write Dutch and English.

Required skills

• Electrical measurement instruments (e.g., multimeters, insulation testers).
• Low and high voltage isolation and testing.
• Portable appliance and GFCI testing.
• Use of hand and power tools for electrical maintenance.
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word).
