Plant Attendant - Petroleum Products Depot

About the role

SOL Suriname is looking for a Plant Attendant to handle, store, transfer and load petroleum products safely and efficiently. The role covers tank gauging, loading operations, valve and pipeline work, record keeping, housekeeping and incident reporting, in line with HSEQ requirements. It reports to the Facility Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Load road tank wagons according to approved procedures, gauge storage tanks and record product levels
• Open and close valves and pipelines, record metered volumes and verify loaded quantities against delivery documents
• Maintain records of loaded vehicles, truck IDs, driver names and loading documentation, and report volume or inventory discrepancies
• Follow HSEQ and depot security guidelines, prevent spills and leaks, and report incidents immediately
• Take part in safety meetings, toolbox talks, inspections and emergency response activities
• Verify product grades and quantities, assist with audits, inspections and inventory reconciliations
• Operate meters, pumps, valves and loading arms safely; inspect equipment before use and report faults
• Keep gauging logs, loading records and shift reports accurate, and report irregularities
• Maintain good housekeeping in the filling shed, loading areas and tank farm, and help with inventory control

Required profile

• Secondary education with a technical college or institution qualification
• 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial facility
• Preferably computer literate, with mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Ability to plan work independently, work well in teams and comply with HSEQ and emergency codes
