Maintenance Specialist - PhotonAssay Equipment

About the role

Chrysos, which combines science and software to deliver ore analysis for the mining industry, is hiring a Maintenance Specialist for its Paramaribo site. The role provides hands-on technical support so that PhotonAssay equipment runs smoothly, and involves scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and training of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and service PhotonAssay installations in the Americas region, including monthly scheduled maintenance and quick response to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Provide technical support by telephone, email and remote computer login, liaising with headquarters and the technology partner in China.
• Train customers on the safe operation and maintenance of the equipment.
• Manage spares inventory for each installation site and complete maintenance and spares documentation.
• Help develop and improve maintenance processes, assist in installing and commissioning new installations, and prepare fault records for reporting.
• Assist with root cause analysis of faults and train new Maintenance Specialists.
• Schedule maintenance events, perform other on-site duties delegated by the Maintenance Manager, and support a strong WHS culture.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience maintaining technical equipment.
• Customer service and field service experience in the mining or mineral processing sector (or related).
• Able and willing to travel within the Americas region and overseas, including to remote mine sites.
• Fluent English and valid right to work.
• Desirable: tertiary engineering qualification, familiarity with mine-site operations, and fault-finding experience in electromechanical equipment.
