Offshore NDT Supervisor – Rotational Offshore

About the role

The Offshore NDT Supervisor will be the focal point for nondestructive testing and welding‑inspection activities during the installation phase of a deep‑water project. Working on a 35‑day on/35‑day off rotational schedule, the role reports to the Offshore Representative and supports the Project Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor and supplier documentation, including procedures and Inspection and Test Plans, and ensure compliance with approved surveillance plans and AUT acceptance criteria.
• Prepare daily production reports detailing all indications identified by Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) and assess subcontractor NDT interpretations.
• Monitor manual NDT inspections, review material certificates, and verify calibration‑equipment certification files.
• Conduct routine and random inspections of contractor QA/QC performance, stop work and report any non‑conformities immediately.
• Participate in daily meetings, support coordination activities, and promote HSEQ compliance and anti‑corruption standards.

Required profile

• Engineering qualification or equivalent with 10‑15 years of relevant experience.
• At least five years supervising deep‑water offshore operations related to SURF activities.
• Recent participation in a deep‑water offshore project.
• Fluent spoken and written English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• ISO 9712 Ultrasonic Testing Level 3 certification with strong AUT experience (including Time of Flight Diffraction).
• Experience with PipeWizard software and AUT interpretation on pipelay vessels or spool bases.
• Ability to complete AUT Interpreter qualification for the Saipem SONUS system.
• Mandatory training: BOSIET, T‑BOSIET, FOET, HUET, Cause Tree Analysis, CBSP, Golden Rules.
• Valid OGUK (or equivalent) offshore medical, seaman's book and OPITO CA‑EBS certification.
