Offshore Coating Supervisor

About the role

The Offshore Coating Supervisor will lead coating activities on an installation vessel, ensuring all technical and HSE requirements are met during offshore operations. This position reports directly to the SURF Installation Manager and works on a 35‑day on/35‑day off rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor coating work performed by contractors and subcontractors onboard the vessel.
• Apply HSE standards, enforce safety culture, and act as the emergency focal point.
• Ensure implementation of approved procedures, manage changes, and review contractor documentation.
• Conduct daily reporting, maintain compliance with statutory and company HSEQ standards, and support continuous improvement.
• Inspect work, verify material certificates, and report any non‑conformities immediately.

Required profile

• Engineer/Offshore Supervisor with at least 15 years of oil‑and‑gas experience, especially SURF projects.
• Proven background in major EPCI projects, SIMOPS, and offshore rigid pipelay (J‑Lay/S‑Lay) and structure installation.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities across HSE, technical, procurement, and construction domains.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) and ability to work in a team with high responsibility.

Required skills

• Painting & WET insulation – Level III (NS 476), ACQPA, FROSIO, NACE certifications.
• Pipe coating inspection experience with IMPP, IMPU, stand‑alone FBE and HBE liquid epoxy solutions.
• Knowledge of ISO standards: 12736, 21809‑1, 12944, 8501‑8503, 16276, 19840, 4628.
• Mandatory trainings: BOSIET, T‑BOSIET, FOET, CTA, Golden Rules, offshore fit‑to‑work (OGUK), Seaman’s book, CA‑EBS OPITO.
