Marketing Communications Officer

About the role

The Marketing Communications Officer will support PTC – University of Applied Sciences in promoting its programmes, events and initiatives. This part‑time, on‑site position in Paramaribo focuses on planning, creating and coordinating marketing and communication activities that enhance the university’s visibility and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and edit press releases, news items and other media communications.
• Produce content for digital channels (website, social media) and print materials such as brochures and newsletters.
• Assist in the design and execution of strategic communication campaigns aligned with institutional goals.
• Maintain and update social media platforms, ensuring consistent messaging.
• Support event promotion, including creating promotional materials and coordinating outreach.
• Collect feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve communication efforts.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage internal and external audiences.
• Proven experience in marketing communications, preferably within an educational or similar organization.
• Excellent writing skills for web content, press releases, brochures and social media posts.
• Organizational talent with attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple projects under deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team and respect cultural differences.
• Relevant academic background in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of the local Surinamese context and interest in technical higher education are advantageous.
