Advisor, Transportation & Logistics

About the role

Newmont is hiring an Advisor, Transportation & Logistics for its Merian gold mine in Suriname. The role supports the T&L team by creating and administering purchase orders for T&L spend, and works from Paramaribo on a 5-day work week with 2 days off and 8-hour shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing new local suppliers and managing supplier relationships
• Preparing and administering contracts with local T&L suppliers
• Monitoring local supplier regulations, agreements and business practices
• Making sure all contractors follow mine safety standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field
• Extensive experience in supply chain in international mining environments or related sectors
• Experience in logistics or supply chain analytics roles, preferably regional or global, including transportation data analysis and reporting
• Experience in logistics performance monitoring, vendor analysis and contract negotiation support
• Knowledge of regional transportation regulations, trade compliance and recycling regulations in LATAC

Required skills

• Strong understanding of data analysis tools (Excel, SQL) and logistics software (TMS, SAP)
• Knowledge of supplier quality systems, eProcurement and contract management systems
• Ability to interpret large datasets and present findings to non-technical stakeholders
