Senior Contract Engineer (Drilling & Wells and Marine Logistics & Offshore Support)

About the role

The Senior Contract Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end contracting lifecycle for drilling, wells services and marine logistics/offshore support vessels. Based in Paramaribo, you will support complex international projects for a global multi‑energy company, ensuring contracts are prepared, evaluated, negotiated and issued in line with operational and commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tender documentation, evaluate received bids with internal stakeholders and negotiate with bidders.
• Issue contracts and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Lead cross‑functional teams (business users, finance, HSE, legal, contract owners) throughout the sourcing process.
• Maintain accurate contract records in SAP, Agora and SharePoint.
• Develop and implement procurement and contracting strategies for offshore drilling and marine operations.
• Recommend contracting models that balance cost optimisation, risk management and operational needs.
• Support long‑term procurement planning for drilling campaigns and logistics activities.
• Identify opportunities for commercial improvement and value creation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in procurement or a related discipline.
• 7‑10 years of contract management experience in the oil & gas sector.
• Advanced contract writing and negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of C&P tools such as SAP, Ariba, Agora and Sequana.
• Experience with rigs, drilling and wells services, and marine logistics services (e.g., platform supply vessels, tug supply, bunkering).
• Excellent planning, organisation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in oral and written English.
