Dutch Language Expert (AI Training Content)

About the role

SME Careers, a fast-growing AI data services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, is hiring a Dutch Language Specialist (SME) as an hourly, remote contractor. You will review AI-generated Dutch content and/or create high-quality Dutch reference content, judging language quality and step-by-step reasoning and giving precise written feedback. Your work helps make AI models' Dutch output more natural, reliable, culturally accurate and clearly written.

Key responsibilities

• Create prompts and gold-standard Dutch answers across domains such as general knowledge, customer support, education and conversational writing.
• Evaluate and rank AI outputs to improve fluency, correctness, tone match and cultural appropriateness.
• Detect unsafe or misleading content, factual hallucinations, bias and policy-risk language, and validate reliability across use cases.
• Fact-check claims when needed and write high-quality rewrites and model answers.
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and overall quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Linguistics, Dutch/English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Native or near-native Dutch (reading and writing required).
• Strong professional English (minimum C1) to follow guidelines and give detailed feedback in English.
• 3+ years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education or similar language-focused work.
• Deep understanding of Dutch grammar, spelling, punctuation and style, able to explain what is wrong and how to fix it.
• Comfortable with variation between Netherlands Dutch and Belgian Dutch (Flemish), including tone and vocabulary differences; specify which you can support.
• High attention to detail on subtle meaning shifts, awkward literal translations, hallucinated claims and culturally mismatched phrasing.
• Reliable, self-directed and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
• Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, translation QA, editorial QA or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred.
