Assurance Manager - Suriname

About the role

EY is looking for a Manager to lead assurance engagements, inspire a talented team and build lasting client relationships in Suriname. The role combines hands-on audit leadership with mentoring and client relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess client satisfaction
• Maintain regular contact with the client throughout the year
• Direct fieldwork daily, inform supervisors of the engagement status and manage staff performance
• Adapt the audit approach to the changing client environment
• Apply a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts to client situations
• Delegate tasks, give guidance to seniors, provide performance feedback and training, and conduct performance reviews
• Foster an efficient, innovative and team-oriented work environment
• Share ideas with the audit team, use technology to learn and share knowledge, and maintain an educational program
• Understand EY's service lines and encourage team members to apply the firm's services

Required profile

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and an accounting designation such as RA, CPA, AA or ACCA
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an auditor for a public accounting firm, or equivalent business/industry experience for special needs
• Dedication to teamwork and leadership, integrity in a professional environment
• Fluent in English and preferably proficient in Dutch
