Finance Director (Suriname)

About the role

The Finance Director will lead the financial function in Suriname, ensuring that all activities comply with corporate policies, local tax, customs and regulatory requirements. Reporting to senior management, the role is responsible for safeguarding the financial health of the organization and supporting strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor treasury, budgeting, accounting and procurement activities across the Suriname entity.
• Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and local legislation, including tax and customs obligations.
• Prepare and present reliable, timely financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Respond to statutory auditors and regulatory agencies, providing required documentation and clarifications.
• Lead the financial team, defining roles, monitoring performance and fostering continuous improvement of financial processes.
• Track budget execution, analyze variances and support the implementation of strategic action plans.
• Identify and drive improvements in reporting and control mechanisms.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Management, Economics or a finance‑related discipline.
• Significant experience managing financial units in large or medium‑size industrial production companies.
• Strong knowledge of Suriname’s tax, customs and corporate financial regulations.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
