Freelance Legal Translation SME – Dutch to English

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Legal Translation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a short‑term, remote project focused on reviewing and validating AI‑generated Dutch‑to‑English legal translations. Your expertise will directly influence the quality and accuracy of an emerging AI language model.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated legal translations for linguistic and legal accuracy.
• Correct translation errors, ensuring proper use of legal terminology and contextual relevance.
• Provide detailed feedback to support the refinement of the AI model.
• Participate in an initial Time & Motion study to estimate effort and aid project planning.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Dutch with strong command of English.
• Proven experience in legal translation, legal publishing, or contract review.
• Familiarity with legal terminology, contextual nuances, and translation quality assurance.
• Ability to work independently, meet quality standards, and adhere to project timelines.
