Wellsite Geologist

About the role

We are seeking a Wellsite Geologist to support offshore drilling operations in Suriname. The role involves supervising geological activities on the rig, ensuring high‑quality data acquisition, and providing real‑time interpretation to support safe and efficient drilling.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise geological operations at the rig site.
• Follow up and interpret geological acquisitions on‑site.
• Oversee mud logging, M‑LWD, E‑Logging and coring services.
• Ensure security, integrity and quality of well data acquisition.
• Identify drilling hazards in real time and support safe operations.
• Apply wellsite procedures and standing orders related to data acquisition and safety.
• Report rig site activities to the local office.
• Coordinate communication between mud logging, wireline personnel and drilling crews.
• Participate in pre‑job and daily rig meetings.
• Prepare end‑of‑well reports and manage sample dispatch.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Wellsite Geologist on offshore drilling operations.
• Strong knowledge of geological operations at rig sites.
• Experience supervising mud logging, LWD, wireline logging and coring services.
• Ability to perform real‑time interpretation of mud‑logging, LWD and MWD data.
• Experience with well trajectory follow‑up, geosteering and drilling phase decisions.
