Senior Full Stack & Backend Node.js Engineer (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

Bluelight is seeking a senior full‑stack and backend engineer to join its remote team serving clients across Latin America. You will work on high‑impact, low‑latency API services and contribute to both backend and occasional frontend tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs on AWS.
• Implement SDK integrations and secure multi‑tenant architectures.
• Write raw SQL, manage schema migrations, and enforce Row‑Level Security in PostgreSQL/AuroraDB.
• Collaborate on React front‑end features when needed.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated tests, including fault‑injection scenarios.
• Utilise AI coding assistants as part of daily development workflow.
• Support containerised deployments on AWS Fargate/ECS.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, backend‑focused.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low‑latency services in AWS and scalable REST APIs.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, Row‑Level Security, and raw SQL.
• Solid understanding of React and full‑stack development.
• Hands‑on experience with testing, CI/CD, and schema migration tools.
• Bachelor’s degree and ability to overlap US business hours.
• Extreme ownership, problem‑solving mindset, and meticulous attention to detail.
