Senior Engineer Mine Technology

About the role

Rosebel Gold Mines is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to lead the development, optimisation and maintenance of mine technology systems. The role focuses on improving operational efficiency, data integrity and production performance while supporting safe and sustainable mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, optimise and continuously improve the Fleet Management System (FMS) and other mine technology platforms.
• Ensure technology systems support operational excellence, productivity and cost optimisation.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Geology, Mine Operations, Maintenance, Survey and IT to align systems with operational requirements.
• Deliver real‑time production reporting, dashboards, scorecards and performance analytics.
• Maintain the integrity, quality and reliability of operational data.
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues, hardware failures, software problems and configuration challenges.
• Monitor and maintain GPS, drill monitoring, payload monitoring and equipment tracking systems.
• Ensure high availability of servers, communication infrastructure, databases and supporting hardware.
• Coordinate upgrades, maintenance, backups, disaster recovery and cybersecurity activities.
• Manage inventory of mine technology equipment and spare parts.
• Develop and deliver training programmes for operators, dispatchers, supervisors and national staff.
• Research emerging mining technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards and risk management requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, IT, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geomatics or a related technical discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in Fleet Management Systems, preferably in mining.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a high‑pressure production environment.
• Willingness to work on a rotational schedule (14 or 5 days on site followed by 7 or 2 days off).
• Good communication skills in Dutch and English.
