Junior Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

About the role

Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Services (ECIS) is looking for a motivated Junior Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join its team in Suriname. You will support project, maintenance and troubleshooting activities across the energy, oil & gas, industrial and utility sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with installation, inspection, maintenance and testing of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Install cables, cable trays, conduits, junction boxes, instruments and related equipment.
• Perform cable termination, continuity testing, insulation‑resistance testing and loop checking.
• Read and apply electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, cable schedules and installation details.
• Support senior technicians with equipment troubleshooting, calibration and commissioning.
• Record test results, complete inspection sheets, timesheets and other project documentation.
• Inspect tools and equipment before use and report any defects or unsafe conditions.
• Follow ECIS and client HSSE, quality and work‑control requirements.

Required profile

• NATIN diploma in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, IT or a related technical discipline.
• Basic knowledge of industrial electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Ability to understand basic technical drawings and instructions.
• Strong safety awareness and willingness to comply with site rules and permit‑to‑work requirements.
• Team‑oriented, disciplined and able to follow instructions accurately.
• Willingness to work at various project locations, including remote sites, and to work overtime or shifts when required.
