HR Department Manager

About the role

The HR Department Manager acts as the trusted HR partner for a defined country or region, advising senior leadership on all people‑related matters while ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with corporate goals. The role safeguards internal consistency and drives a performance‑focused culture across the assigned geography.

Key responsibilities

• Implement HR processes, policies and systems in collaboration with the local HR team and global HR network.
• Oversee the full employee life‑cycle: organizational design, workforce planning, learning & development, performance management, reward, payroll, talent management and employee engagement.
• Ensure legal compliance with local labor laws and manage collective and individual cases, including disciplinary actions.
• Maintain strong relationships with local authorities, unions and social partners.
• Monitor and continuously improve HR processes and systems, leveraging data quality for performance insights.
• Lead internal transformation initiatives and drive adoption of change across the location.
• Manage and develop the local HR team, overseeing budget, resource allocation and deliverable integrity.
• Coach managers to enhance team and individual performance.
• Collaborate with Global HR Business Partners and expertise networks to align strategies and provide feedback for improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field (MBA or Master’s in HRM is a plus).
• 10+ years of HR experience with a proven leadership track record.
• Strong communication and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of local labor legislation.
