Fleet Training and Competency Manager

About the role

Brunel is looking for a Fleet Training and Competency Manager to join an offshore FPSO project. The role leads the Competence Assurance Standard, making sure Operations and Operation Readiness personnel have the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to perform their roles safely and effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Training and Competency team, allocate resources and coordinate Operations instructors across projects
• Develop and implement competency assessment frameworks and programs
• Manage competency assessments with cross-functional teams and technical experts
• Implement and improve digital tools for competency tracking, data analysis, reporting and process automation
• Monitor assessment results and report Training and Competency status across projects and regions
• Identify training needs, recommend development plans and coordinate with training providers
• Engage with Operations Managers, OIMs, Operations Readiness Managers, department heads and clients
• Support audits and ensure competency program readiness ahead of First Oil

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus
• STCW Certificate of Competency (COC) as Chief Engineer or Master Mariner may be considered as an alternative to a bachelor's degree
• Offshore experience, including as an instructor and/or assessor
• Proven experience implementing or managing competency assessment programs

Required skills

• Knowledge of competency frameworks, industry standards and offshore regulations
• Experience using digital tools and software for competency management, data analysis and reporting
