Financial Controller – Hybrid (Paramaribo)

About the role

The Financial Controller will join HCC Accountants & Tax Advisors in Paramaribo, working in a hybrid setting. You will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, review and analysis of financial statements and reports for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation, review and analysis of client financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage accounting processes, including general ledger maintenance, budgeting and month‑end close.
• Support internal and external audits and monitor financial controls.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to provide financial insights for decision‑making.
• Assist tax and advisory engagements where financial expertise is required.
• Supervise junior staff and maintain proper documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is an advantage.
• Experience in a controller, senior accountant or similar role, preferably in an accounting firm or multi‑entity environment.
• Strong communication skills, high integrity and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting.
