Data Manager

About the role

The Data Manager will lead the design, implementation and maintenance of data environments that support geoscience studies and subsurface operations for a large greenfield oil and gas project. The role ensures that all well, seismic, reservoir and production data are stored securely, remain high‑quality, and are readily accessible for internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and optimise data platforms for geoscience studies and operations.
• Ensure data storage, quality control, integrity, consistency and traceability for wells, seismic, reservoir and production datasets.
• Validate and consolidate data from internal and external sources, supporting data capitalisation, retention and archival.
• Define, test and document well‑drilling data workflows and secure data exchange (Data Room) with partners and authorities.
• Implement geoscience data governance rules, maintain the Data Management Plan and monitor data lifecycle activities such as deduplication and archiving.
• Contribute to data valorisation through visualisation, reporting and analytics using Power BI, GIS and SharePoint.
• Participate in the deployment of digital data platforms and standards (e.g., OSDU, cloud‑based solutions) and provide technical input to improve data accessibility and interoperability.
• Document and share best practices for data management and digital workflows.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing geoscience or subsurface data for oil and gas projects.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, confidentiality and lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with HSEQ and sustainability principles in a data‑intensive environment.
• Ability to act as a technical interface between geoscientists, contractors and regulatory authorities.
