Consultor/a en Efectividad del Desarrollo y Gestión de Operaciones

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Consultant in Development Effectiveness and Operations Management to provide strategic, technical and operational support to project teams. The role will help improve the quality of design, implementation and closure of operations, aligning with the Inter‑American Development Bank’s institutional priorities and effectiveness frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Review and strengthen project documents, including Project Design Documents and technical cooperation agreements, ensuring technical quality and consistency.
• Enhance theories of change, results matrices and indicators to promote sound intervention logic and results measurement.
• Support the evaluability of operations and alignment with institutional development effectiveness standards.
• Participate in corporate quality‑review and approval processes, including SPD and OVE reviews.
• Provide technical assistance to project teams throughout design, review and approval stages.
• Assist in monitoring ongoing operations, preparing and reviewing Progress Monitoring Reports.
• Identify risks, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, proposing adjustments to strengthen performance.
• Contribute to the preparation and review of Project Completion Reports and result analysis.
• Systematize evidence, results and lessons learned to enhance knowledge management.
• Facilitate coordination between operational teams and corporate units and support strategic initiatives on development effectiveness.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in economics, public policy, statistics or related fields.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in projects funded by multilateral agencies or the public sector.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken; additional knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
• Citizenship of one of the Bank’s 48 member countries and eligibility to work for the institution.
