Team Lead, Networks

About the role

The Team Lead, Networks will oversee and participate in the maintenance, support, and optimisation of Newmont's network infrastructure at the Merian operation. This onsite position ensures reliable LAN, WAN, Microwave and WiFi connectivity while mentoring a team to meet operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support maintenance of LAN, WAN, Microwave and WiFi networks to guarantee performance and reliability.
• Plan, coordinate and implement network upgrades and new implementations aligned with operational needs.
• Monitor network usage, assess optimisation opportunities and implement improvements.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Lead technical support and troubleshooting for network issues to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors for implementations, maintenance and issue resolution.
• Document network configurations, changes, upgrades and maintenance activities.
• Support IT projects related to network infrastructure in line with site priorities.

Required profile

• Formal education in Information Technology, Network Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience managing LAN, WAN, WiFi and network security in an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑mentoring abilities.
• Ability to work on a rotational schedule (14 days work, 10 hours per day, 7 days off).
