SPS In-Country Operation Leader

About the role

The SPS In-Country Operation Leader will coordinate the readiness and execution of subsea production systems for a major offshore project in Suriname Block 58. Based in Paramaribo, the role involves resident work with occasional offshore missions on installation vessels or drillships.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate in‑country readiness of SPS equipment such as Christmas trees, wellhead systems, subsea distribution systems and manifolds.
• Liaise with Drilling, SURF, Field Operations and other teams to support safe offshore drilling, installation and testing campaigns.
• Act as the focal point for the SPS operational perimeter, ensuring day‑to‑day efficiency and cost‑effective activities.
• Monitor progress and performance of SPS contractors and subcontractors to keep the offshore sequence on schedule and compliant with specifications.
• Lead arbitration of priorities within the SPS scope and represent the organisation at contractor premises, worksites and vessels.
• Supervise and train employees and contracted personnel on site regulations, emergency actions and safety procedures.
• Track SPS contractor performance against engineering, procurement, fabrication and supply requirements and report variations.
• Manage the Life‑of‑Field services budget, consumption and reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant technical discipline with ~15 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in a project environment.
• Proven offshore construction and commissioning experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong communication, influencing and leadership skills in a multicultural environment.
• Ability to represent the organisation at senior level internally and externally.
• Fluent English; French is desirable.

Required skills

• Subsea production systems (SPS) knowledge and experience.
• Offshore installation supervision and lifting operations.
• Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) operations.
• Valid RSES training, offshore medical certification and BOSIET/MIST or CBSP/HUET.
• Experience with Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, SIMOPS, Synergi and related operational‑coordination tools.
