Senior Metallurgist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Reliability Engineer to lead the maintenance reliability function across our mill, crusher, and tailings operations. The role will shift the plant from reactive to preventive and predictive maintenance, boosting equipment reliability and overall performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the reliability team and provide technical guidance on mechanical reliability.
• Design, implement and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Analyse equipment failures, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Support troubleshooting, equipment condition assessment and maintenance strategy development.
• Monitor reliability, availability, downtime and maintenance KPIs, identifying improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance Planning, Projects, HSE, manufacturers and service providers.
• Assist asset life‑cycle management, spare‑parts strategy and asset‑integrity decisions.
• Participate in maintenance planning, budgeting, cost analysis and reliability improvement projects.
• Lead Management of Change (MOC) activities related to maintenance and reliability.
• Mentor local engineers and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline; professional engineering certification is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in plant operations and maintenance, including mineral processing plants.
• Previous senior or team‑leadership experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
