Senior Full Stack & Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript) – Remote (LATAM)

About the role

We are looking for a senior full‑stack and backend engineer to join Bluelight’s rapidly expanding consultancy. The role is fully remote for candidates located in Latin America and involves building high‑performance, secure applications for a variety of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain low‑latency API services on AWS.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party SDKs.
• Implement secure multi‑tenant architectures with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row‑Level Security.
• Write raw SQL, manage schema migrations and optimise database performance.
• Contribute to frontend work using React when needed.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated integration tests.
• Collaborate with AI coding assistants and follow best‑practice development standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, primarily backend.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Experience building services on AWS and working with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB.
• Solid understanding of secure multi‑tenant design and Row‑Level Security.
• Proficiency in writing raw SQL and handling schema migrations (e.g., node‑postgres, node‑pg‑migrate).
• Professional experience with React and modern testing practices.
• Bachelor’s degree and ability to overlap US business hours.
