Senior Accountant – Oil & Gas Joint Venture

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our fast‑growing affiliate in Suriname. The role supports the financial management of multiple joint ventures and an upcoming offshore oil project slated for first oil in 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting in SAP, including payroll, accruals, loan interest, and deferred tax.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes and ensure timely balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Plan and coordinate the annual audit, preparing fixed‑asset, depreciation, and balance‑confirmation analyses for external auditors.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly PSC reports for the Staatsolie Hydrocarbon Institute and quarterly consolidation packages.
• Manage joint‑venture accounting: issue Joint Interest Billing (JIB), cash calls, cost‑recovery reports, and respond to partner inquiries.
• Develop and maintain accounting controls, ensuring compliance with internal rules such as CREPACC and SOX.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 5‑7+ years of finance experience in the oil & gas sector, preferably with joint‑venture accounting.
• Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills in English; French is a plus.
• Self‑starter attitude, detail‑oriented and able to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP (FI, CO, MM modules).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
