Repair & Maintenance Technician – Intervention Services & Drilling Tools

About the role

The R&M Technician carries out hands-on inspection, repair and maintenance of field tools, preparing them for their next assignment. The work covers the full process from receiving tools to dismantling, repairing and refurbishing them using technical manuals, procedures and work instructions. More senior roles lead and oversee other R&M technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in daily operations and safety meetings, toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis, and report issues promptly
• Maintain equipment, facilities and the work area in a safe and presentable condition
• Repair machines, equipment and structures using tools such as hammers, hoists, cranes, drills, wrenches and precision measuring or electrical/electronic test devices
• Inspect used parts for dimensional changes using calipers, micrometres and other measuring instruments
• Follow maintenance procedures for unloading, disassembly, cleaning, pressure testing, visual checks, painting, assembly, loading and storage of tools, and complete the required documentation
• Initiate, update and close out AIRTs, PFTs, forms, checklists and work orders, and comply with the Work Order time-tracking log
• Use lifting equipment and forklifts safely, and be certified for forklifts and cranes
• Accept and prepare incoming and outgoing shipments, validate quantities and ensure accurate documentation
• Order parts and supplies from approved suppliers and support the facility's LEAN and continuous improvement programmes

Required profile

• 2-4+ years of electrical and/or mechanical experience
• High school diploma
• English speaking
• Ability to work with hazardous materials, radioactive elements and explosives, and awareness of NDT, NDE and ATEX policies
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
• Domestic and potentially international travel of up to 10%
