Fluids Superintendent

About the role

The Fluids Superintendent will support drilling assets within the Drilling and Wells department, coordinating all fluids and cement operations and acting as technical support for the Drilling Superintendent and offshore Fluids Supervisor. This role is responsible for preparing fluids and cement programs, managing service providers, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all fluids, cement, and waste management operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
• Prepare Fluids and Cement Programs, logistics plans, and end‑of‑well reports with proper quality control.
• Manage service companies delivering fluids, cement, and waste management services, validating pro‑formas and monitoring performance.
• Provide fluids engineering support to the Lead Drilling Engineer and Head of Engineering during well preparation.
• Plan and coordinate logistics for chemicals, bulk materials, and equipment required on‑site.
• Perform quality control of drilling fluids and cementing formulations to meet well requirements.
• Monitor and optimise costs, prepare lessons learned, and generate reports on drilling fluids performance.
• Ensure waste management complies with environmental and industry standards.
• Motivate, evaluate, and develop offshore fluid supervisors.
• Liaise with headquarters on fluids‑related subjects for sensitive wells.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• More than 10 years of experience in drilling fluids and cementing, including deepwater and water‑base mud experience.
