Exploration Manager – Near Mine & Brownfields

About the role

The Manager Exploration will provide technical oversight, leadership and management of exploration programmes at Newmont’s Merian operation, driving resource growth and delivering safe, responsible, value‑driven exploration activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead identification, assessment and advancement of new exploration opportunities aligned with long‑term business strategy.
• Develop and deliver annual exploration plans, budgets and multi‑year programmes while ensuring safe execution.
• Monitor programme performance against KPIs and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Partner with technical, operational, environmental, land, permitting and community teams to deliver responsible exploration programmes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences or a related discipline.
• Significant experience leading exploration programmes, portfolios and teams within the mining industry.
• Professional registration (e.g., P.Geo) or eligibility for immediate registration preferred.
• Additional language capabilities in French, Spanish or Dutch considered an asset.

Required skills

• Advanced data analysis and interpretation capabilities.
• Proficiency with data‑visualisation and resource‑modelling tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Experience using geological software for resource modelling.
