Contract Engineer – Oil & Gas (12‑month contract)

About the role

The Senior Contract Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end contracting lifecycle for drilling, wells services and marine logistics in Suriname. Reporting to the Contract and Procurement Lead, the role ensures contracts and purchase orders are prepared, negotiated and issued in line with company policies and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement and contracting strategies for offshore drilling and marine operations, balancing cost, risk and operational needs.
• Prepare tenders, evaluate bids, negotiate with suppliers and issue contracts and purchase orders while ensuring compliance with company, JV and PSC rules.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams (business users, finance, HSE, legal) throughout the sourcing process and maintain accurate documentation in SAP, Agora and SharePoint.
• Manage supplier relationships, pre‑qualification, performance monitoring and continuous improvement of contract processes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in procurement or related discipline.
• 7‑10 years of contract management experience in the oil & gas sector, preferably with drilling, wells services or marine logistics.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams, negotiate complex contracts and drive commercial value.
• Fluent English, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and ability to work under pressure with limited supervision.

Required skills

• Advanced contract writing and negotiation.
• Proficiency with C&P tools: SAP, Ariba, Agora, Sequana.
• Procurement expertise for drilling and wells services.
• English (oral and written).
